Deutsche Post – Reichstagsgebäude, Berlin. The extra NFT as a bonus in the series of historical buildings in Germany completes this collection with the Reichstagsgebäude in Berlin.
Few structures reflect the tumultuous and eventful history of Germany as impressively as the Reichstagsgebäude. Designed by architect Paul Wallot, it was constructed in the Neorenaissance style between 1884 and 1894. In 1918, Philipp Scheidemann proclaimed the German Republic from one of the building's balconies, marking the end of the monarchy. The Reichstag fire in 1933 was used by the Nazis as a pretext to dismantle the rule of law. During the years of German division, the heavily damaged building from World War II was restored and primarily used as an exhibition and event venue. After reunification, it was decided to make Berlin the seat of the unified German Parliament. As early as the late 1980s, initial designs for the Reichstag in its current form were proposed, and the construction, featuring its distinctive dome, was completed in 1999.
